Why Wix?

Squarespace and Wix website builders are very similar, both offer competitive hosting and easy-to-use CMS for editing your end. Both builders stay up-to-date with latest web trends, SEO and security. Staple features include forms, galleries, maps, video, audio, ecommerce, online booking systems, and email marketing. But for customizing a site to make it fully bespoke for your brand, Wix wins hands down.

 

Already using Squarespace?

The dashboard and editor in Squarespace are very similar to Wix, making it easy to change over and we provide video instructions for familiarising yourself.

Need eCommerce?

Retail sites require a little more work than regular sites, and how much more work depends on the amount of products or services you'd like to sell. For eCommerce sites we usually work with Shopify and Wordpress developers, but online stores, booking systems, membership subscriptions and event ticketing can also be added to Wix sites – a cheaper alternative for start-ups.

The Process

Strategy

Following a discovery call, the first phase undertaken is web strategy: establishing the best approach for your site, to compete in your market.

Content

Copywriting, photography, video and any other content elements are produced or commissioned and organised for the build.

Build

The build might begin with wireframes to establish content layout for each page, or straight into the build. You'll view a test site to provide feedback.

Launch

Once the test site is approved, we begin all the behind-the-scenes prep required to get your site live, including domain transfer and on-page SEO.

Producing and organising copywriting and imagery for your site takes time, whether this is undertaken by yourself, us, or a third party. Don't underestimate copy, it needs to be authentic and concise in order to engage today's reader, they've heard it all! Normally we get clients to give us as much information about their brand and offering as they can, then our copywriter will pull it all together. Another critical element of a website is high-resolution professional photography, this could be commissioned, or by purchasing stock images. Smaller budgets also have the opportunity to use royality-free images, but you do run the risk of another brand using the same image. Investing in a photographer will give your brand the edge.

The strategy phase of the website is where we establish content required for each web page, key messages we need to communicate and how we'll communicate these through copy and images. We'll establish who is producing content in our initial discovery call, this is a key factor in determining the website cost.
